Amy enjoys helping children learn about themselves, their world, and how to maximize their strengths. She also wants to help parents understand and learn the essence of attachment-based parenting models. Her previous work experience was in both the public-school system and higher education. Amy's primary focus during her public-school education years was working in special education services. Because of her background and training, she approaches counseling from an empathetically. She desires to assist children and families in making peace of their past and creating hope for the future. Amy is also a writing tutor for undergraduate students at Southern Nazarene University.
Amy says she knew pretty quickly there was something special about Family Hope House when she first became acquainted with them through an internship. She wanted to be a part of the wonderful work they do, and she continues to be amazed by her coworkers and enjoys learning from them. She also loves FHH because of the encouragement she gets from leadership and fellow therapists. There is a sense of camaraderie and respect for one another, and they genuinely build each other up. She feels that FHH is a family.
Amy wants others to know that Family Hope House has a fantastic staff. FHH's office staff works hard to keep things running smoothly, and the therapists provide a variety of services to help families connect and heal. FHH is blessed to have several adoption competent therapists on staff; it's what sets them apart from other organizations. Amy says that among the many great things about FHH, is that the staff strives to provide quality therapy services to everyone.
Amy enjoys being with family and being a Nana. She loves playing with her labradoodle Brady, cooking, and crime shows and Golden Girls. She also loves her Boston sports teams, loves anything with peanut butter in it, good pizza, and essential oils.
