Kim Baker
Kim is a native Oklahoman and has worked for Family Hope House for over six years providing administrative support to the FHH team. Kim says her experiences serving in church outreaches and her work at FHH have given her insight into the struggles of so many children in Oklahoma. Families have told her repeatedly that they had been elsewhere and had been unsuccessful in finding the help they needed until they found FHH. She has gotten to watch the changes in the family dynamics unfold and find hope.
Kim has developed a strong sense of devotion to the nonprofit world. Her work at Family Hope House gives her deep appreciation for the mission of improving the lives of children in our state. She has seen adoptions take place that she fears would have been disrupted had it not been for the unique services FHH offers. She has also been witness to clients driving in from out of state where access to the services FHH offer is unavailable.
Kim loves working for Family Hope House because they are making a difference, and there is a great need for the specific services offered there. She appreciates the selfless staff that works so hard and makes personal sacrifices to work for a nonprofit. The children of the FHH staff call her "Kimmers," and this is a much-treasured accolade. One of the clinician's son started calling her Kimmers several years back, and it stuck. When a staff member's child enters the FHH office, there is a visit to "Kimmers office" for a special treat.
Kim's experience with a Community Service Committee led her to pursue a job in the nonprofit world once her children were adults. Kim reached out to Kristen Hale, one of the founders of Family Hope House, not knowing what she was doing and was immediately asked to come in for an interview. She was ready to be a part of an organization that would make a difference. Her family has been very supportive of her work with FHH.
