JoAnna Hill
Clinician
JoAnna’s passion is joining children, adolescents, and their families on their journeys of healing and growth. Her approach to helping encompasses the philosophy of the counseling profession that emphasizes education, normal development, and empowerment through a strengths and values-based lens. She supports clients in cultivating the seed of healing that lies within each individual and grows through self-awareness, positive engagement, and connection to others. She seeks to understand the world from the client’s point of view and assist clients and their families in exploration of their strengths to learn new ways to meet their needs, to overcome challenges, and to live meaningful and engaged lives.
JoAnna says she loves working at Family Hope House. Not only is hope one of her top strengths, it is in the name: Family HOPE House. Hope is not the assumed definition of wishing things to be different than they are; it is a way of thinking. Hope is a cognitive process of determining pathways to a better future and maintaining the motivation of reaching desired goals, even in the face of obstacles. Our team embodies the true definition of hope as we collaborate to provide quality therapy, education, and advocacy for the community we serve. Our environment and interactions with each other model support, life-long learning, and empowerment. Our administration and therapists all have a heart for helping and unique strengths that work together to form an amazing team. JoAnna feels that at Family Hope House, her strengths are not only seen and valued by leadership, but encouraged to be employed as we seek to provide a more holistic approach to healing and well-being for others.
JoAnna likes traveling, having new experiences, and exploring ways to get outside of her comfort zone, because she believes it is the best way to grow! She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, being outside, reading, creating art, and practicing mindfulness and yoga. She has a cute pit/weenie dog mix named Boston and a Bengal cat named Loki. Outside of FHH, she works part-time doing private, in-home lessons in mindfulness, tutoring, and homeschool assistance.
